Why Hike Lyle and Mormon Lakes
If you are looking for a little solitude and a great destination take a hike to Lyle and Mormon Lakes. This scenic hike, one of the best in the Hunter-Fryingpan area, traverses gorgeous wildflower-filled meadows with nice views of the nearby peaks on its way to two beautiful lakes.
Be forewarned that you will spend as much time driving to the trailhead, located on the Hagerman Pass Road in the upper reaches of the Fryingpan Valley, as you will hiking. But do not let the long ride deter you. The drive is quite scenic and those that invest the driving time will find they have the trail mostly to themselves.
